Bob Graham Round, Leg 1 anticlockwise
Ran the first leg of a friend's Bob Graham attempt on Saturday. Some light clouds quickly dispelled as the sun broke over the fells. The road section of the Round, usually the home stretch of a clockwise round, were for us the warmup on the approach to Robinson.
The climb up Robinson felt interminable, but we made it in the end. Caught my breath on the traverse to Hindscarth but hit a wall near the top of Dale Head; my friend and his navigator forged on ahead as I limped down to Honister Pass, arriving a minute after them in a torrent of sweat.
